Ian

Before lock down I purchased a CMX track (OO) cleaner but haven’t tried to use it until now. I’m running LNER and early BR Steam locos on a flat layout but none of my locos can move the cleaner either pulling or pushing.

can anyone suggest a suitable loco that will move this heavy chunk of brassware
Thanks

Hi Ian,
There are a number of locos, which people have identified.  If you want to stick with steam, the 9F comes up time and again as good for the job, the Garrett, too, if you want to pay out that much to push a cleaner  ðŸ˜ƒ .  If you want to see a diesel round the track, the Co-Co ones seem to get votes, Peaks and the 66 come up quite often.  My Peak weighs 1 1/2 lbs  [680 gm] if that is of help.

Thanks Julian that information is useful.
having paid so much for the cleaning I wasn’t expecting to push it around myself.

I had a thought that as I’m using DCC I could may be link two engines together and see is that works. It’s worth a go and it would save the pennies for something else

There are a couple of people that claim to have run successful consists, for it, so definitely worth a go.

By coincidence this was discussed only a few days ago.  Read through this thread for a number of ideas and what I eventually came up with as a successful means of getting mine around the layout:

The A4 is pulling and the L1 is pushing
