Sam's Son
We have seen the recent announcement from Hornby of their new product
that provides remote control for DC users
I was recently shown at a model railway exhibition a product from "Blue Railways" that offered a similar service. I was allowed to use the hand-held controller to drive a loco on the circular test-track. I found that I could walk around the exhibition site at some distance from the track with accurate control of the loco. The owner of the system also showed to me his tablet that also controlled the loco with pictorial details of the loco and speed curves and many other facilities. There is an app. available for this.
While I use DCC at home I was impressed by this system which is available here... http://www.bluerailways.co.uk/
I have no interest in the above system other than being very impressed by the demonstration and I think it may be a worthy alternative to the Hornby offering
