Great to receive the email regarding the above item. I want to be able to be able to manually stop a loco in a precise location on my layout. At the moment I am using infra red LED's to do this job. However i have a mimic board set up and I would like to use that instead of the IR's. The position of the sections where the sensors would have to go is quite a long way from the mimic panel and would mean very long wires which I do not want. Can some one please tell me what I would need to enable the sensors to work with mimic panel instead of loads of wires.

Hi

Len, if you want the mimic to reflect the status of the sensor or track section then you need to connect it to an Alpha AEU unit. This will issue a DCC command and change the status of the Alpha Mimic board. (I presume that is what you have)

If not give more detail and we can think about it

Thanks AHJAY. I thought that would be the case. I would need to put 4 sensors on either end of my layout, so I assume I would need 2 Alpha AEU units one under each end. Then 8 LED's for the mimic board as well as the 8 sensors. Am I on the right track?

Hi LenV - that would work well depending on which DCC system you are working with - could you confirm?

Cheers

Hi Richard. I am using a eCos with track and accessory buses. I have spoken to John today in the tech department and he also said it should be ok. Thanks for your reply. I will be coming up to Settle in a few weeks and hope to get all the bits I want, and any advice I will require.
