If I wire the three PSB terminals 7, 8 & 9 to a micro switch NO, C & NC, so that the connection 7/8 or 8/9 is constant rather than momentary, will that work or will it cause problems for the IP Digital motor?

It will work fine. The electronics see a closed circuit, act, then forget.

However.... be aware that there needs to be a clear gap between commands, so the switch must have a clear off position before going from one position to the other. If the transition is too fast, it may not react properly.

Experiment - it cannot cause any harm as long as there is no voltage in the circuit above normal logic levels

Many thanks Ahjay, that is great. There is no voltage of any kind in the circuit, just the micro switch. I am building a working interlocking system which requires that the FPL lever is reversed before the points can be changed so I will wire the FPL micro switch to interrupt the common line for the point lever, so there will always be a gap between the change from one side to the other.
