As the title suggests, am I safe using magnets and the Alpha Mimic- to explain:

I'm building a mimic panel for my layout and to house the panel and the Alpha Mimic board I found a small display cabinet tucked away in the loft.
ALPH020.jpgMy design is to fix a timber along the bottom with a couple of hinges to another timber batten attached to the underside of the mimic panel so that it drops down and allows me access to fit the LEDs and do any wiring maintenance:

To hold the panel inside the box vertical I want to use a magnetic catch (as used in cupboards and the like)
ALPH027.jpg   Display when panel closed on magnet, Final panel will be laminated.
ALPH029.jpgThe cabinet has a groove around the interior of the frame into which a clear panel slides, this will help keep it clean:

Hi Malc. I do like the track plan you have made. I assume it was done on scarm. Unfortunately I only have a MacBook and as far as I have read scarm is only available on windows. Is this correct? Many thanks Len.

Hi Len, Yes the track plan was designed in SCARM. Unfortunately it isn't available for MAC but 'Railmodeller' which is also a free software program does run on the MAC:

To cover one question that I missed.

Magnets will have no effect on our electronics at all.

Thanks Malc. I have already tried Railmodeller, but I could not find a way of entering any wording, as you have done with Scarm. I will keep looking. Len

As magnets are not going to cause any problems, (thanks Ahjay) I've now fitted my two Alpha Mimic Controllers inside the cabinet:
