Just a note on the installation of ground signals. As usual DCC Concepts have almost thought of everything as they include a drill for the exact size of the metal tube that the signals are mounted on, however, the male plug that goes into the board will not go through this hole!!

The only way I could think of solving this was to cut the cable and feed it through the hole and re-solder.

At the same time, most of my points are further away from the board that the cable length, so whilst the need for soldering was required, I simply connected CAT5 wire (Like telephone cable) between the two ends.

This assisted in two ways, firstly the wires are colour coded for each signal and secondly this was a cheap option for me as I have the CAT5 cable.

All works perfectly, the signals look and operate brilliantly.

Seriously thinking of including some of these myself so good to hear that you are positive about them.  Do you have a picture of them installed?

Here are two pictures. The loco shed is almost complete however the other photo is a Freightliner base yet to be developed. Strangely the lights all look amber on the photo but obviously some are red/amber. They are designated to the adjacent points and change accordingly. (This is a 20191023_090610.jpg 20191023_090524.jpg DCC layout).

Looking good.
LEDs are hard to photograph accurately. An LED is a moment of very bright in a generally softly lit area - as a result, the clever stuff we all have in our cameras or phone cameras now makes some assumptions and corrections - with interesting results.

So - when we take pictures we frequently have to use software to adjust colour so it matches what you really DO see in the real world. If anyone out there has a photographic tip to make it easier for all of us, it'd be great to see it posted!

Hi Bunkerbarge... We've put up some photographs of the various different signals on a layout on the product pages here:

Is this helpful for you?
Kind regards

Thanks Richard, I think they will work well with what I have in mind.  I had a chat with Mike at The Great Electric Train Show, they look really good on your display layout.

Thanks for the link.
