I have connected up two mimic boards for ground signals. They are connected via the white cable supplied. I have addressed the first board to 1. The second board I have addressed to 13. For simplicity I connected the closest ground signals which happen to be turnout 18 and 20. Assuming on board 2 that 1L is now 13L, I have connected the ground signals to the respective 18 and 20 turnouts.

When i press 18 on my Alpha Central, 18 is displayed in the alpha mimic display. But no change in status on the ground signal. Same for number 20. (no others are connected as yet)

I am pretty confident I have done something incorrect here. The boards recognise the turnout number when pressed, but no changes are visible on ground signals.

Does anyone one know what I may be doing wrong please?

thanks
Andy

Solved. Was user error and I was not careful enough connecting up to correct number sockets when units were daisy chained in panel 2. So turn-out 20 is actually number 8 on the second mimic board, paying attention to choose either L or R dependent on status. All there in the manual of course.

Glad you got sorted Andy, thanks for letting us know.  I'm just toying with the idea of using some ground signals so I was interested to see what challenges you were having.

They are really simple to use, but I was not applying enough attention when daisy chaining and checking the new turn-out numbers. Schoolboy error.

Don't worry, we all still do them.  Mine is forgetting to put an insulating fishplate on one side of the frog!!
